High speed folding carton inspection system

To meet the ever increasing demands for zero rejects in the packaging industry,  EyeC and Kohmann have developed the high speed Carton Inspector.  Kohmann GmbH, a world leader in supply of Window Patchers and folder gluers  for carton manufacturers, have used their expertise in designing the carton feeding and handling system, and EyeC have used their experience gained on the ProofRunner inline print inspection system to produce a very effective high speed print inspection system for folding cartons.

Even if the press has an inspection system on it, individual cartons that are defective cannot easily be segregated and damage can occur in subsequent processes. Inspection is carried out after die cut and before going into the folder gluer. Individual cartons that fail the criteria that you set are automatically rejected so do not get out to your customer.  Depending on belt speed, web width and carton size, the Carton Inspector can check for print quality and surface blemishes with a throughput up to 3,000 cartons per minute.  Imagine the cost saving compared to manual inspection!

Defects in colour, printing and foil stamping including spots and wrong text can be detected. The Carton Inspector can inspect cartons up to 500mm wide so it can be useful for any supplier of printed packaging materials for example pharmaceutical, toiletries, tobacco, luxury goods and food. And as with every EyeC inspection system the production samples are verified against the customer’s proof so you can be absolutely sure that not only is the print quality good but it is exactly what the customer ordered!.
