Inline film inspection can be carried out on the press, slitter, laminator etc

Our inline print inspection system monitors any changes to print quality during the production process. On a printing press our system detects and alerts the operator instantly of colour changes, registration errors, missing ink etc. This allows the operator to correct the problem before too much material has been printed, thereby reducing scrap material. Also if required a flag can be inserted automatically into the reel so that sections with bad print can be removed at the slitting stage.

Colour consistency can be monitored at several different regions on the web and an alarm set if the colour varies beyond a certain DeltaE value.

By carrying out the print inspection on a slitter or finishing machine, our inline inspection system detects a print defect and if necessary stops the slitter to allow the non-compliant material to be removed.

Mixed products, mis-splicing. Another potential problem that can be avoided by using our print inspection system at the slitter is where two similar but different products have been wrongly spliced together. Perhaps only the weight or pack size has changed making it difficult to differentiate by eye.
